Mini- Lesson #43- Independence

What does it mean to be independent?  Let's talk about how to become a more independent kid and why it's important.

Follow Up Activities:

  • Think about a time that you felt proud because you accomplished something yourself.  Did you teach yourself a new skill?  Work through something hard?  Did you ask for help and then use that help to move forward on your own?  How did it feel?
  • What are you having your parents do for you that you could do yourself?  Talk to your parents about taking over that task.  Examples: picking out your clothes, getting started with your remote learning for the day, making a snack.
For Parents:
  • Parents, identify 3 things that you are doing for your children that they could do for themselves.  Make a plan to have them take over the task.
