Caring Classmate 6. If I see someone being hurt at school, I know who to go to for help. I also know how to show support to the person being hurt. I can come up with something that I could say to someone who is making a hurtful choice.
Ask Question: Last time our lesson was about being friendly and making kind choices with others. But what should you do when someone choices to be unkind to you? What if you see someone being unkind to someone else? Do you have a responsibility to do something?
Read the book- Willow Finds a Way by Lana Button
- In the story was Kristabelle bullying her classmates? Why or why not? What makes unkindness bullying?
- Why were all the kids listening to Kristabelle?
- How did Willow and her classmates feel about Kristabelle telling everyone what to do and threatening to un-invite them to the birthday party? Why did she wait so long to stand up to Kristabelle?
- What is peer-pressure? How does it impact our choices?
Review the 3 things you can do if you or someone else is being mistreated:
- Find a friend/Be a friend
- Speak up
- Tell an adult
Practice each of these strategies using role plays.
