Mini-Lesson #16- Unpacking Our Feelings

Today we are going to continue our work exploring how our thoughts, feelings, and actions are linked.  Today we will focus on our feelings!

Follow Up Activities:

  • Can you relate to Hedgehog and Color Monster?  Have you ever had a confusing mix of feelings?  Try to put your feelings into writing or a drawing.  You can also choose to talk to someone about the feelings you experienced.  
  • How are you feeling right now?  Can you write down all the feeling words you find inside and come up with a color to match each one?  
  • See if you can create some space and time today for all of your feelings.  Maybe you are feeling happy that you are able to come to school a couple of days a week but sad that you can't play with friends in other classes during recess.  It's okay to hold both of those feelings.  Make space to feel happy and grateful about the things that are going well but don't forget to let yourself feel and process difficult feelings like sadness and anger too.
