Are you excited for a long weekend? Me too! I hope you take time to connect with your family, play outside, and do things that bring you joy. I also hope that you spend some time celebrating the reason for our holiday on Monday. I hope that this weekend you take time to celebrate the work and influence of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Through his leadership and peaceful protests, Dr. King helped bring attention and change to issues of justice and fairness. He saw that black and brown children and adults did not have access to the same opportunities as white children and adults. Dr. King spoke up and brought about positive change. Our lives today have been positively impacted by his work but there is still work to be done to make sure all people, regardless of their skin color, are treated fairly. Please use the resources below to learn more about Dr. King and find ways to celebrate this important American.
