Mini-Lesson #34- Building Resilience

Great news everyone resilience, the ability to cope with and adapt to stress brought on by difficult situations, is a learned skill!  This means we can be developing/growing our resilience every day.  Check out today's video to learn more..........

Follow Up Activities:
  • Identify times in your life that you have had to show resilience.  Think about things that have been difficult.  How did you get through your own tough times?  How can you use what you learned from that experience to help you now?

  • The first step to building resilience is noticing how you are feeling and what you are struggling with (self-awareness).  The second step is knowing how to help yourself.   Get out your Reboot Strategy Jar (Lesson #18- if you haven't made one yet) and think about how you can use the strategies you identified to help you in tough times.

  • Having strong relationships and a solid support system is a huge part of being resilient.  PLEASE reach out if you need me.  I am always happy to connect with parents and/or schedule a Google Meet with a student.  bgallagher@capeelizabethschools.org
